Im in loveeee with LactNation Breastfeeding & EY Nutrition Support Group because it truly gives a sense of empowerment to all the ladies out there. Im a first time mother with a baby coming in after 17 months of marriage. Since Ive always been obesed, the first reaction of my MIL was ‘Really? Is it possible?’ when I shared my pregnancy strip showing a positive. There and then I got to know its going to be a hard one raising my first child in the same house.

Why do I love this group?

1. It never lets you down if you are following instructions (number of diaper count in 24 hours and age of baby in each post for eg)

2. Admin and moderators are in the boat of getting worried with you as if its their own child.

3. To the point and promt responses are being given. My success story. Being an emergency csection mama, it was traumatizing to see how the colostrum, which had started leaking about a month ago in form of drops, suddenly almost vanished as soon as I entered the room. Baby was crying at top of its lungs and I literally had nothing to give to the poor soul. My MIL was screaming at the nurses to give child topfeed and I felt helpless as I had strictly informed them that I will feed him mine after going through experiences shared by the ladies on this group.

My MIL came and pinched my nipple so hard in an attempt to take out milk that I almost cried out of pain. Since I couldnt feed him more than a drop, I kid you not, only a drop is what I i could give the baby in its first hour. To add a cherry on the top, I had one inverted nipple too. The nurse saw my disappointment and the way my MIL was constantly insisting, she asked the doctor and doctor was kind enough to take my approval. He was given 30ml after which he slept peacefully. I on the other hand couldnt. That night was the most horrible one in hospital. Thankfully, since mama and baby were fine, we were discharged the very next day due to covid as well. After returning, all I did was try on latching the baby again and again. The whole day, I would make the baby latch on to both sides and within three days Alhamdullilah the issue of inverted nipple went away first. Baby was smart enough to form it. Nipple shield I bought earlier was of no use. Still lying in drawer as it is. Pumping and latching helped so much! I even heard taunts such as ‘kerti kya ho poora din ander jub doodh hi nahi ata’ I had days where I would keep on crying because of sore, cracked nipples. Would apply all sorts of mehengi nipple creams ranging from lanisoh to palmers but then through this group I learnt about shallow latching and voila! Problem solved with winwin.

Within a week, Alhamdullilah I had a good supply. Thanks to the baby who never gave up. It is only because of ebf that he was able to go from 3 kgs(birthweight) to 5.3kgs in about 50 days.

Masha Allah x100. God bless Hareem Sumbul who turned out to be an angel for a first time mother who is vulnerable to hearing to all sorts negative comments in the rude world out here. Im glad I became a member
of this group right before giving birth. The guidance I get each day and every Friday is enough to keep me motivated!

Thankyou for making such an amaaazing group. Keep up the good work. May Allah bless you abundantly.
